I’m Back!

I started this blog over a year ago with the intention of writing even semi-regularly about not only my own farming operation, but agriculture issues in general. So far I have had two posts in just over a year. Fail. However, there is no time like the present to start again. The last year has been crazy. We have made a few emergency room visits, had a major accident involving a 20 year farm employee (he has since made a near full recovery), started a remodel on our house (which has not been finished and my family of 4 is still living out of a small toy hauler), I was elected to our local irrigation district during what has become the third year of a statewide drought (our water allotment for the year sits at 24″, the lowest ever for the district), and to top it off I found out I had 3 herniated discs in my neck which required surgery and on April 18th I had Level 3 ACDF surgery to fuse together 4 vertebrae in my neck.

I guess the nice thing about being relegated to a neck brace and severely limited as to what I can do on the farm is it gives me time to revive my blog! So here we go. I don’t anticipate flooding the internet with daily blog posts, but surely I can beat one post per year. Feel free to leave comments for topic ideas!
